ABSTRACT OF TECHNICAL ARTICLE

This article considers four major reasons for the historical cause of planet rotation. The accepted cause among many scientists is the aggregation and accretion process. The second cause is the possibility of dragging against the bulk aerodynamic solar wind as encountered in primeval times on its sun side at right angles to its orbital flight. The third cause of torque (mainly affecting the near planets) is due to geomagnetic events in the magnetosphere allowing highly charged electrical and magnetic plasma to flow through the magnetic field of a planet causing torque. Finally the fourth cause, which applies mostly to the giant planets Jupiter and Saturn, is a very high velocity wind at the surface which in turn causes a frictional torque on the planet combined with the tidal effect of companion bodies orbiting a liquid planet.

This analysis presents a new hypothesis; the ancient and powerful solar wind is an impetus for planet rotation.  The analysis also contains supporting equations and diagrams.
